NGOs means non-governmental organizations that try to solve the problems of the poor and helpless in the underdeveloped or developing countries. These organizations attend to rural (village) problems, agricultural development, health care, education, women and children’s problems, unemployment and other social matters.

We need to promote the NGO culture for the benefit of the common people. It is, however, necessary to have checks on the working NGOs to stop them from becoming purely commercial organizations.NGOs are voluntary organization s (VOs).

These are popularly known as NGOs because they are free from governmental control in their functioning. They are democratic and open to all those wishing to become member of the organization voluntarily and serve the society.
